TINARIWEN IS NOMINATED FOR THE GRAMMY’S AWARD FOR THE THIRD TIME

The Malian Touareg rock/blues band that has a huge fan base in the whole world including Morocco, has been nominated for the Grammy’s award 2021 in the new best global music category for their latest album ‘‘AMADJAR’’.

Tinariwen have been nominated three times for the Grammy’s award, they have won the best world music album at the 54th Grammy awards in 2012 for their album ‘’TASSILI’’ that has been released on August 30,2011.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xus8pY22PPk&list=PLn7RKPjxsEp0jQrJ_UgWDZ8HFGG9G4pvH

In 2018 they have been nominated again in the same category for their album ‘‘ELWAN’’ that has seen a huge success globally and was trending in Morocco and still is, the biggest proof of that is the crowd that gathered for their concert in the GNAOUA MUSIC FESTIVAL in ESSAOUIRA in 2019. Unfortunately they didn’t win the award.

Their latest album ‘’AMADJAR’’ has been nominated for the 2021 Grammy’s in the new Best Global Music Category, making them a three times nominees for this very heavily valuable award. 

Tinariwen have preserved their authentic Touareg identity in their music, appearance and even in their lifestyle, even thought they have performed concerts for their devoted fans all over the world from different nationalities and backgrounds, and all the prestigious awards they won have only brought them closer to their roots.
